Star American volleyballer has made an indelible mark on the local scene with Guangdong Evergrande and is keen on a repeat performance, Tang Yue reports.

Logan Tom, the leading scorer at the 2008 Olympic Games and the best receiver at last year's World Championship, is the most famous foreign player to have taken part in the Chinese women's volleyball league.

Fans cheered for the American, waving banners stating "Logan Tom, Fighting!" during matches and then rushed to be photographed with her or get her signature after games.

Although there was no official league Most Valuable Player of the recently-concluded season, Tom was regarded as the best player by most media for her all-round technique, which featured difficult diving saves, strong kills and dangerous serve.
