Tom powers U.S. to volleyball final
U.S. Women's volleyball teams are performing well in Beijing.
Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh have won the gold in Beach Volleyball.
Now Utahn Logan Tom will be playing for the gold in indoor volleyball.
Tom and her teammates swept Cuba in the semi-finals Thursday and will now play for the gold. It's already the best showing for the women's volleyball team since the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles.
Logan is a former Highland High School volleyball star and now stars for the U.S. Cuba had won the gold three times. This is the second time the U.S. has played Cuba in Beijing. They lost to them in preliminaries.
For some of the girls on the team this is their fourth Olympics. For Tom it is her third and they all want to go home with the gold.
"I think we're doing a good job. I think we have grown throughout this Olympics. I think we just keep doing what we are doing. You know, we come out, play with a lot of heart out there. I think we're playing our heart out for everyone to see and I think it's paying back," Tom says.
As you watch the women play you may have noticed the team had "Wiz" written on their arms and shoulders during the game against Cuba.
It's the nick-name of former teammate Elisabeth Bachman McCutcheon.
Her parents were attacked in Beijing after the Opening Ceremony and her father died.
The U.S. will now play Brazil for the gold. Brazil beat China in three sets.
