TOM UPDATE: Logan Tom (Salt Lake City, Utah), a three-time U.S. Olympian and Best Scorer of the 2008 Olympic Games, is playing with Hisamitsu Springs in the Japanese V-League. Hisamitsu Springs won both its matches last week to end the regular season with a 19-8 overall record. Tom notched 25 points in a 25-11, 25-17, 25-20 victory over Takefuji Bamboo on March 20. She tallied 19 kills on 37 attacks, match-high five blocks and an ace to go with a 68.2 service reception percent (15 of 22). In a battle to decide second place, Hisamitsu Springs blanked NEC 25-19, 25-15, 25-18 on March 21 in the regular season finale. Tom was credited with 11 kills on 21 attacks and just one error, while adding an ace for a 12-point performance. Hisamitsu Springs will be one of four teams competing in the round-robin Japanese V-League finals. Hisamitsu Springs has a rematch with NEC on April 3, followed by an April 4 contest against league-champion Toray and April 5 contest against fourth-place Denso.
