Translation from Go USA by Naa:
I used to play with Toshi Yoshida coach in Team USA, so I was interested in Japanese practices and coaching style.I’ve heard Hisamitsu is good team, and I’m happy to play in Japan that is good opportunity to learn different culture during do lots Japanese style practices,I will do well in the new environment. Now, Yoshida-san is coaching for another team, but I’m professional player so I’ve decided that Hisamitsu is good team for me and sighed with this team.
In fact, I joined with Hisamitsu Springs and felt the team gave me a good impression. My teammates can not speak English also I only know few Japanese, but they are aggressive in talking with me in English. I will try to make communicate with them and we are close. I think a gym has good accommodations and nice located. I rode my bike around the gym and I felt it nice place and I like here. But, when I returned to the gym from a sea, it was really hard to get there because I had to go up a high hill. (laughing)
It passed only one week since I’ve joined the team, so it’s the first thing to fit in with Hisamitsu more than thinking role as the team. Japanese team style is not only ONE ace player attacking, but all members make combinations VB style. I want to try the style. I think it is important that understand about Japanese style after that add my good style to the team, understand each feature and good points and making the most of myself.
After Athens OG, I played Beach VB for one year 4year ago, and after that I played in Spain league. And backed to Beach VB 2 year ago and played Russian league last season. I have been playing beach VB since I was kid. Indoor VB is my job so that why I am here. We say Beach or Indoor in US, but I will play Beach when I want to also I will play Indoor when I want to do it.
Beach VB carrier gave me nice ball control skills in Indoor. We say Roll-shot in USA, it means attack a ball to exactly point, the play is useful in Indoor. And Beach VB is that only 2 player have to run around a coat. After serving, run quickly and jump to spike, I need to DO movement activity many times so it made me strong physical and tough. Also I think Beach VB is mental game, when we head in a pinch, we have to DO be better by 2 players so need to have strong physical for a game. I think these mental and toughness will help to playing in Indoor.
I am ace player, so spiking to the opponent space coat is made from good Beach experience. I always play like that I will see opponent space before spikes, during running start.
I’m all round player so I want to try improving all skills as a VB player more than thinking what are good points or weak points. I always thinking about it and improve all skills is my challenge, so I don’t have one skill problem. I can say that all plays are good points and weak points, just want to be better my play. If I say my good points, the play makes me feeling good (laughing)
Just kidding, but I will DO fit my play good time even though bad time. I think lots experience tells that I will do it something play anytime. Even tough a toss is far from me, it is necessary to meet the ball from me. The effort made me more strong player. So I have to control my self with lots experiences even if feeling up and down physical.
I’ve been played with Yoshida coach, Lang Ping coach etc 3 coaches in Team USA. I’ve been playing not only national team but many counties ( BRA, SPA, RUS), and all teams playing style and coaching style are different way. I’ll try to fit own style from me anywhere, and that's the way it should be. I have been learning with Yoshida coach for 5 years in Team USA. I don’t feel big different things and puzzling change between Japanese VB and American VB.
I used to have games with Sano, Oomura and some of players in international competition, and I’ve already known their skills are high. I am glad to play with them. Japanese VB style is very organized system, and Hisamitsu is strict, but all members enjoy playing VB. I think Hisamitsu is very nice team.
I am here in Japan with World Cup etc… many times, and now I am very happy to be here as Hisamitsu member. I’ll do my best and please come to watch our games at stadium.
