lame excuse. As far as I know, Canada and DR announced their 14-player rosters earlier last week. Berg tweeted almost two weeks ago that she will be playing this tournament. It seems obvious the players already have been informed if they’d make the trip. USAV could have released the roster earlier, but they didn’t. It sucks!

Teams submit a 19-player preliminary roster (O-2 Form) prior to each event, but must reduce the roster to either 12 or 14 players (O-2bis Form) depending on the regulations for the event. The O-2bis final roster must be turned in during the team’s preliminary inquiry held the day before the tournament begins.

This sounds like typical tournament procedure.

USAV submitted their preliminary roster and based on that FIVB must have made that press release. Preliminary roster includes alternates in case someone from the final roster cannot play. LT not being in the final roster means that other OHs are better options for this tournament.

USAV has a history of releasing their final roster late! I thought we would be used to it by now I'm certain that all 19 players did not fly out to PR. The 14 who were going most certainly knew.

i thought that when the fivb misleading presser came out, usav could have released their 19-prelim roster news then... that might have addressed some misunderstandings... instead it was done on Sunday after the "final" 14 had departed for PR?? go figure.

about the 14 or 19 flying question? sorry meant that sarcastically ... my pt was at that time they knew who all had a ticket, why hold back the names?
