U.S. Women's National Team Weekly Update - April 29URL: USA Volleyball TOM UPDATE: Logan Tom (Salt Lake City, Utah), a three-time U.S. Olympian and Best Scorer of the 2008 Olympic Games, is playing with Hisamitsu Springs in the Japanese V-League. After a rough start to the season, Tom and Hisamitsu bounced back to finish second in the regular season and second in the V-League playoffs. Hisamitsu Springs was one of two teams to represent the V-League in the V-League Top Match series pitting the top two teams from the V-League against the top two teams from the Korean professional league. Hisamitsu Springs lost to Korea’s top-ranked Pink Spiders in four sets on April 18 to open the challenge series. Tom scored seven kills, four blocks and an ace for 12 points in the match. Hisamitsu Springs bounced back to defeat GS Caltex in five sets on April 19. Tom chipped in 10 kills, two blocks and an ace for 13 points. Hisamitsu Springs finished third in the event as all four teams finished with a 1-1 record. The Pink Spiders held a 1.04 point ratio, while GS Caltex had a 1.02 ratio followed by Hisamitsu with a 1.00 ratio and Toray with a 0.94 ratio.
